Open Foundation by Distance is an initiative of the English Language and Foundation Studies Centre at the University of Newcastle. Based on the highly regarded Open Foundation program, this program gives you a chance to apply for entry to university without attending classes on campus.
In 2009 there will be 200 places available in the Open Foundation by Distance program. Students from the Mid-north Coast and the Central West regions of New South Wales are particularly encouraged to enrol.
Students will be able to select two courses per semester from the following subject areas: Australian History; Core Mathematics; Earth Sciences; Foundation Concepts in Chemistry and the Life Sciences; Linguistics and Studies in Law.
Once enrolled, students will receive their course notes in hard copy format.
