Credit transfer arrangements are constantly being negotiated. On this website you will find information about articulation arrangements between the University of Newcastle and the listed institutions:

How we work out what credit will be offered to you

In working out what credit should be offered, we consider the content of courses taught in 1996-2004. Courses and University programs are being constantly reviewed, however, so the structure and content of both can vary from one year to the next. The amount of credit granted, therefore, may also change. You can get further details and regular updates on this website.

How much credit you can get

Credit granted may not necessarily be in the form of block credit (i.e exemption from Year 1 of the University program) because of differences in the nature and content of studies undertaken at the University, TAFE NSW Institutes and other education providers.

To find out how much credit you can get for your course:

For example, if you've done TAFE's Diploma of Viticulture and you want to do the Bachelor of Science program at the University, you will see you are entitled to 120 units (or the equivalent of one and a half years of full-time study) towards the Bachelor of Science program.

Similarly if you want to do the Bachelor of Science program at the University and you've done the CB Alexander Agricultural College Diploma in Agriculture, you're also entitled to 120 units (the equivalent of one and a half years full-time study) towards the undergraduate degree Remember, 80 units equals one year's full-time study.
