UoN Services Limited is the pre-eminent provider of services, facilities and amenities at the Callaghan Campus and at University House (Newcastle CBD). To access our wide range of services and benefits provided please visit and register as a member at UoN Services Limited's website. Your membership gives you access to our programs, events and facilities including discounts at many of our outlets. UoN Services Limited's facilities are located at the Shortland Union, Hunter Union, University House and the Forum Cafe. Our service range includes general retail outlets, food and beverage, licensed bars, function facilities, entertainment, clubs and societies, special events and our members are part of the Ambassador Card program. Membership is free for the remainder of 2006.
Newcastle University Sport (NUsport)
There are many reasons to live a healthy lifestyle and becoming involved in Newcastle University Sport (NUsport) can enhance your student experience at the Uni. It's your opportunity to meet new people in a positive environment.
Thousands of University of Newcastle students currently enjoy NUsport's state of the art facilities and outstanding services. NUsport manages the University's sport and leisure and extends to students a massive 30% discount on membership packages at The Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre. These include group fitness classes, a 50 metre heated indoor pool, fully equipped gym and climbing wall. The Forum also offers social indoor sporting competitions and is used by many of the University's 27 sporting clubs. NUsport also encourages students to participate in the second largest annual sporting event in Australia, the Australian University Games (AUG). The Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre is located at the Callaghan campus and The Forum Health & Wellness Centre, Harbourside, will open in Newcastle's central business district in October 2006.
Newcastle University Students' Association (NUSA)
Newcastle University Students' Association (NUSA) is the peak representative body for undergraduate students at Newcastle University. Accordingly, independent grievance advice and advocacy on student needs and concerns is their core role on campus. They also provide clubs and societies, activities and events, help with collective organising, course readers, computer services, free lunches, free condoms and other welfare services. NUSA is a democratic organisation whose controlling body, NUSAC, is elected annually by and from the student body. Membership costs $19.
Newcastle University Postgraduate Students' Association (NUPSA)
Membership of NUPSA is universal for all postgraduate students of the University of Newcastle. This includes all PhD, Research Masters and Coursework Masters, Graduate Diploma, Diploma of Education and Graduate Certificate students. Honours students are invited to attend NUPSA events and workshops.
The objectives of NUPSA are to identify and respond to the needs and concerns of postgraduate students; promote the development of a postgraduate community; promote the quality of postgraduate education; and ensure effective representation of the interests and concerns of postgraduate students. NUPSA is run by an Executive Committee elected from 1 January to 31 December each year with elections being held in October/November.
Membership to NUPSA is free.
Campus Central
Campus Central is the student association at the Ourimbah Campus. We are a democratically run organisation with a Board of Directors made up of representatives from University Students, TAFE Students, Staff, Graduates, Post Graduates and other members of the Campus Community. We provide non-academic services to the Campus Community, including entertainment, sport, welfare issues, food, beverage and retail services. Campus Central has also arranged many discounts with local businesses and through the Australia's number 1 members benefit program, the Ambassador Card, to provide National discounts to Campus Central members.
