Procedure for Submitting Your Paper:
To submit your paper for review for inclusion in the symposium program:

  • Submit an MS Word file, with double-spaced text in a 12-pt font to the Organising Committee (2008APSEW@newcastle.edu.au).
  • The file should include an abstract of between 300 and 400 words describing your project/paper, as well as the paper title, author(s), affiliations, and contact details.
  • Indicate your preference for poster or presentation (there is limited space for full-scale presentations) by using one of the following email subject headings:
    APSEW - Poster Submission
    APSEW - Presentation Submission
  • We may assign submissions to session formats, including asking poster submissions to be delivered as presentations and vice versa.
  • If you wish to propose an innovative panel, hot topic discussion session, or short symposium, feel free to do so, bearing in mind that we wish to use our limited time in the way that will most benefit participants and advance their research.

Posters will be discussed briefly in moderated roundtable sessions following poster viewing. In keeping with the roundtable format, we welcome papers describing 'work in progress' or developmental papers.

The closing date for all submissions is Friday 31st August, 2008. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by Tuesday 30th September, 2008. All accepted papers will be published in the Symposium CD with an ISBN.

Doctoral students submitting papers to the symposium may also apply for a Travel Support Scholarship. A limited number of scholarships are available and will be assessed based on individual need and the quality of the paper submission. See the Scholarship page  for more information.

Please feel free to contact any member of the organising committee if you need further information.

We look forward to seeing you there.
