How much does it cost to advertise?
This is difficult to determine until we have an idea of what you are trying to achieve with your advertising. Advertising costs are dependent upon a number of variables eg. the media you choose for your advertising, the size of your advertisement, the placement of your advertisement, the frequency of its insertion, and whether it is black and white or colour etc.
You may only require a simple ad in one newspaper or journal, or you may need to consider a larger integrated campaign across multiple print publications in conjunction with radio over a number of weeks in order to reach your audience.
A couple of questions we might ask you are:
- Who are you trying to talk to?
- What do you want them to do?
- What is your budget?
We can then advise you regarding which media/s to select, how many ads you should place, the size of your ad/s etc. In the first instance contact your Faculty marketing contact / project officer for assistance. You will find a list of University marketing contacts on our website.
What are the deadlines for advertising?
Booking deadlines vary considerably from media to media. So planning and booking your advertising in advance is critical. This will ensure you secure the best available 'spots'. To place an advertisement, contact your Faculty marketing contact / project officer in the first instance. You will find a list of University marketing contacts on our website.
What will my advertisement look like?
Once we have an idea of what you are trying to achieve with your advertising a media schedule will be developed in consultation with you. When this has been signed-off and approved production of your advertisements is the next stage. This will be done by one of our approved suppliers who work to our corporate identity guidelines. You will be sent a copy of the advertisement/s for approval and sign-off before they are sent to the newspaper, journal etc.
To give you an idea of what your advertisement will look like, you can see examples of the University's advertising.
