Occupational Health and Safety
The School of Biomedical Sciences has a strong commitment to the ongoing Health and Safety of its staff and students. This commitment is symbolised by the School's decision in 2005 to appoint a Safety Officer to provide guidance and assistance in applying safe practices throughout the School's research community.
An R2 (research) or E2 (teaching) application must be submitted to the University's Health and Safety Unit for all proposed projects involving the use of school laboratories.
R2 and E2 forms can be accessed here.
Animal ethics and human ethics applications must also be submitted for any work which involves the use of animals or humans, their tissue, fluids or other material.

All research personnel are required to attend a School Safety Induction on commencement of their work in the School. Contact Lynn Herd, the School Safety Officer to arrange this Induction.
