About the School of Business and Management

The School of Business and Management is the largest of three academic units within the Faculty of Business and Law. We conduct teaching and research in the disciplines of:

  • Accounting & Finance
  • Marketing
  • Management & Organisational Studies
  • International Business
  • Employment Relations.

Study around the globe

The School of Business and Management offers courses across three campuses including Newcastle, the Central Coast, and Port Macquarie. We also teach postgraduate degrees at the City Campus located in the heart of Newcastle, as well as in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Sydney.

A wealth of experience

The School of Business and Management comprises 34 full time multicultural academic staff who have wide-ranging teaching skills. Our staff pride themselves on their professional teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as through supervision of higher research degree students. They also have strong research records and have compiled an impressive output of research books, textbooks, journal articles and professional publications.

Research with overseas institutes

Over the years the School of Business and Management and our individual staff members have built teaching and research links with prestigious Universities in Asia, North America, and Europe.

Through the Research Institute of Institutional and Organisational Performance (RIOIP) housed within the Faculty of Business and Law, our staff are conducting major research projects with Jilin University and Shandong University in China, and the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) in India.

Connections with the real-world

Our academic staff travel extensively to present research at overseas conferences and to conduct research with colleagues from other Universities. Industry experience through consulting and research links ensures our staff has real-world experience and insight into current developments around the world.
