Piano Recital

August 15
Piano recital by Daniel de Borah, 3rd prizewinner in the 2004 Sydney Piano Competition. "I was immediately impressed by his pianism, his musicianship and his ability to draw the listener into his musical world" (Stephen Hough December 2004). The programme includes works by Beethoven, Prokofiev and Chopin.

Lieder Recital

September 12
Ghillian Sullivan and Gabriella Pusner A recital of lieder by one of the region’s finest singers. Ghillian Sullivan has had a distinguished career in opera, singing lead roles in Europe and in Australia. She has worked with conductors such as Sir Charles Mackerras, Edo De Wardt, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Bernard Haitink and Sir Colin Davis. More recently she has been directing opera and producing new English translations of Mozart operas. She is partnered by Gabriella Pusner, one of Australia’s leading accompanists, who now works at the Newcastle Conservatorium.
