About the School
The School of Engineering is one of three Schools within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment. The School offers undergraduate programs of study in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering as well as in Surveying. The School is organised in three major Disciplines each with a Head of Discipline as follows:
- Discipline of Civil, Surveying and Environmental Engineering
- Discipline of Chemical Engineering
- Discipline of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics
The School also has two postgraduate coursework Masters programs: the Master of Engineering Management and the Master of Engineering Science. Currently, the specialisations in the Master of Engineering Science are in the areas of Chemical Engineering and Minerals Processing although it is intended that the flexible structure of this program will enable specialisations in other areas to be developed.
A major strength of the School is its excellent research performance. The school is the home of three Priority Research Centres (Advanced Particle Processing; Energy and Geotechnical Engineering). In addition, the School is also home to University Research Centres in Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies, Multi-Phase Processes and Infrastructure Performance and Reliability.
