The School of Engineering is rated as one of the top Schools in this country and rates highly internationally. Our six degree programs are renowned for the excellent job prospects which they offer graduates who are keenly sought by industry, both with national and international organisations.

The quality of undergraduate teaching is reflected in scores gained in national surveys while the strength of our research, on a per-capita basis, is a clear leader in Australia for nationally competitive grant income.

The School and its staff have strong links with industry, through sponsored undergraduate students, guest lectures and research collaborations including part-sponsored academic positions. Several academic staff offer consulting services to industry through Newcastle Innovation, the University's research and consulting organisation.
