Areas of Study

Applied Sciences

Applied Sciences is wholly contained at the Central Coast Campus (Ourimbah) with a diverse range of research and teaching activities including exercise and sports science, food science and human nutrition, marine science and sustainable resource management.

Biological Sciences

Biological Sciences span a wide range of interests from genes, microbes and plants to animal reproduction, conservation and the environment; in our School, we promote multi-disciplinary research with highly skilled professional training for undergraduate biologists.

Chemistry

Chemistry is a major component of many areas of study within our school, including biology, applied sciences, environmental science and earth science. Our Chemistry graduates are sought after in exciting growth industries such as synthetic materials, energy storage, drug design and analytical services.

Earth Sciences

The Earth Sciences are a unique blend of the traditional fields of Physical Geography, Geology, Oceanography, Climatology and Soil Science. Earth Scientists, skilled in the fields of mineral and resource extraction, or in mine site rehabilitation and monitoring, are in high demand as the population of the earth expands and its resources decrease.

Geography and Environmental Studies

Geography and Environmental Studies involves understanding the relationships between place, people and environment, and the variation in processes and patterns in these relationships across space and time.
