Safety Graduate

 

Accountable - Assisting the Safety Manager to ensure that the Safety and risk management functions are managed consistently, responsibly, and effectively throughout the BBA project

 

Core skills and qualifications: Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, OH&S General Construction, Certificate, Senior First Aid certificate, Class A Drivers License (manual)

 

Major Challenges: To assist the Safety and project teams to achieve the key result areas for safety

 

• Key Accountabilities, Assist with ensuring that all site activities, including those of contractors, comply with the BBA Project safety, health and environment standards

 

• Ensure responsibility for personal health & safety

 

• Comply with BBA requirements in relation to OH&S activities and responsibilities

 

• Identify and report OH&S problems where evident in processes or systems

 

• Assist with reporting and investigating accident/incident information promptly

 

• Assist with the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment

 

• Interact positively with community members where necessary

 

• Assist the safety manager with implementation and auditing of OH&S management systems across the site

 

• Present a professional and ethical image to the Client, subcontractors, consultants and subordinates.

 

• Assist with the maintenance of External Certification of the Management System in the area of safety.

 

• Plan and develop solutions to benefit the Client and BBA.

 

• Keep abreast of relevant BBA policies and update site personnel.

 

• Report regularly on safety performance to Senior Management including the Safety Manager.
