Relocation of The Journal Collection

The print journal collection has been temporarily relocated from the Flowers Room (Level 4) to Open 'orange' Stack (Level 1) of Auchmuty Library.  The material will remain
in the stack area until the completion of the renovation project in late 2008

Offsite Storage

The journal collections that were formerly housed in Open Stack were 'closed runs' (i.e. cancelled subscriptions) of very low use journals.  These have been relocated to Hunter Records Storage at Thornton so we can keep the higher-use Flowers Room collections in the Library, as well as provide space for much needed growth.

This material is still accessible by completing an Intercampus request form at:

   http://www.newcastle.edu.au/service/library/ils/intercampform.html

An electronic copy of your requested item will be provided to your University of  Newcastle email address within 2 working days, Monday to Friday

Many of our print journals have also been available online for many years and the Library will continue to purchase electronic back files as they become available.
