Thank you for your reply to my comments on the faulty microfilm machines. Given the system you operate under, I appreciate that  you are doing what you can to get them up and running.

Could you help me by giving some indication as to when they might be back up. I have production schedules that can be moved round, but I need to plan. I would hope you can give me some indication. Any guess you can make will be better than the complete vaccuum I am now in. If you get it wrong, no pack drill from me. Just give me some indication, and I can try to plan around it.

A different matter. I see no point in having my complaints viewed publically, so I am asking for a personal reply, as last time. I hope that such a reply stops it from being viewed publically.

Another different matter. You mention a thought about changing the booking procedure. My comment on that is that this will not be necessary if the machines are all up. Then the procedure is just about right.

Yet another matter. It would be helpful if I could meet with you face-to-face. I have a bit to say that I think could be useful to all concerned. This process of communication is not suitable for more complex matters. I would appreciate a phone number so I can arrange a time to see you.

Thankyou for your feedback.

I have no idea of how to access library resourcses through the internet. I would like to read online documents. How do i do this?

To access online resources from the Library homepage you are usually prompted for a username and password,  this is you student number and library PIN. To create a new PIN please go to…http://library.newcastle.edu.au

Click on MY LIBRARY and follow instructions to create a new PIN.

Hi, I am currently and for the past year studying as an honours student over in the Chemistry building and noticed  when I checked my books today that I have not renewed 3 of them in a while. I usually wait for an email notification and renew them online as I am in the chemistry building full time and have very little time to do anything these days.

I checked back to when the books were due and noticed I had not recieved an email notificication saying my books were due back. I realise now that they are up to substantial amounts in fines and I have required these books for many months in writing my Honours year thesis based on the research I have been completing over the past year.

Is there any way in which the situation can be rectified and the fines abolished or reduced?

I have waived the fines this time, but please do not rely on the email notices in future as there are many reasons  why you do not receive them, ie you email is full.

The book "Museum, gallery, and cultural architecture in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Region : essays in Antipodean  identity" edited by Michael J. Ostwald and Steven Fleming is only available through Cultural Coll/RB STAFF. This makes it difficult to access as it can not be borrowed or photocopied. Is it possible to purchase another copy and place it in the main library?

Your request has been forwarded to acquistions.  It may be purchased depending on availability.
