Need assistance with IT? There are trained staff who move around the Information Common providing IT assistance and general information about Library Services.

Study Areas

The main student work area within the Common contains desks and PCs which are intended to accommodate both individual and collaborative small group study and work.

Print Central and Photocopying

The OIC provides a black and white laser printer and a photocopier.

Newspaper Reading Area

The newspaper area is positioned close to the entry of the Information Common. Major daily newspapers for the current week will be available in this area. A lounge seating area and vending machines are also provided.

Cafe

The Information Common is a food and drink friendly area with staff and students able to enjoy a coffee anywhere within the Common. There are vending machines for cold drinks, snacks and coffee.

Night Byte Service

After the Library closes, you access the Information Common by swipe card. To apply for a swipe card you first fill out an application form available at the OIC or the Library Information Desk. While you wait for the form to be processed you can still access the OIC - ring the doorbell and the Rover will ask you to present your student card before you enter. After the Library closes students relocate to the OIC to continue to use computing facilities.

Outside Library opening hours access to the OIC is via the stairs or lift on the southern side of the Library.

Night Byte Hours

Monday to Thursday - Swipe access 8.30pm - 8am
Friday - Swipe access 6pm - 10am
Weekends - Swipe access after 3pm
