The University of Newcastle is committed to providing an environment that maintains the health and safety of its staff, students and visitors. This commitment is expressed in its Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

As an international research and educational institution this University has achieved international recognition for its environmental initiatives. In order to maintain our environmental best practice the Environmental Management Program is currently under review.

Good health and safety practice should form an integral part of each activity at the University, whether it involves teaching, research or administrative functions. The contents of these pages outline the procedures and mechanisms by which this is supported.
