HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT
COMMITMENT & POLICY

The University of Newcastle is committed to providing an environment that maintains the health and safety of its staff, students and visitors. This commitmednt is expressed in its Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Policy.

Several other policies serve to reinforce this commitment, including:

Code of Practice for Supervision of Research Higher Degree Candidates (available from the Research and Research Training Services).

Good health and safety practice should form an integral part of each activity at the University, whether it involves teaching, research or administrative functions.

The contents of these pages have been organised in accordance withthe OH&S management system principles provided by AS/NZS 4804:1997. Most of the content relating to day-to-day can be found under the heading Implementation.
