SAFETY IN TEACHING & RESEARCH
TECHNICAL SUB-COMMITTEES

A Technical Sub-Committee (TSC) is formed as a body of the OH&S Committee to provide advice and review the safety aspects of activities undertaken by the University of Newcastle in specific areas of expertise (refer to their Terms of Reference). Bio-safety, Chemical-safety, and Radiation-safety, are currently considerd by separate Committees.  
  
The Committees meet on a two-monthly basis. To provide time for review, and so ensure there are no delays in providing safety approval to a research grant, it is important that grants are received by Health and Safety well in advance of the relevant Committee meeting (three weeks prior to a meeting is recommended).
