Traffic and Parking Rules apply on the Callaghan Campus, Conservatorium of Music Newcastle precinct and apply to all drivers. Parking fees apply to all motor vehicles parked on the Callaghan campus and the Conservatorium of Music precinct between the hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, throughout the year. Parking fees do not currently apply on the Ourimbah campus.
A Student parking permit is only valid for use in general car park areas signed 'P'. If you park in other areas such as designated Staff, Reserved, Service or Disabled parking spaces without a valid permit, you may be fined. The NSW Police Service process parking infringements issued on the Callaghan Campus or the Conservatorium of Music precinct. Penalties are those imposed under the Road Transport Legislation (as amended from time to time).
The issue of a parking permit does not carry with it an automatic right to park on the campus. A parking permit entitles a person to park in a designated car parking space only, in keeping with the conditions of the permit held. It should be understood that during periods of peak demand there could be insufficient parking spaces on the campus in close proximity to major buildings. You are requested to plan ahead and arrive early enough to find a suitable parking space.
It is of the utmost importance that vehicles are not parked on grassed areas, footpaths, roadways, car park access roads and the like for the protection of the University's environment, and for the safety of students, staff and visitors.
Park your motor vehicle all day for free in Car park 15. This car park is located on the Eastern side of campus near the Ray Watt oval.
