Visitor Parking

The permit options outlined below allow a visitor to park in General parking areas, signed as "P".

Scratch and Display Day permit

This type of permit is valid for one day and must be purchased in advance. Permits must be clearly displayed on the vehicle dashboard, with the correct month, day and date scratched. The cost of the scratch and display day permit is $3.00.

Machine Vended day permit

This type of permit is valid for one day and is available from coin operated permit dispensers at the following locations:

The permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle dashboard with the date and time of issue face up. The machines take $2, $1, 50c, 20c and 10c coins. The machines do not give change. The cost of the machine vended day permit is $3.00.

Free Parking

Free parking is available in Carpark 15 which is located near the Ray Watt Oval on the Eastern side of the campus. You can view Carpark 15 on the online campus map.

Motorcycles

Motorcycle parking on Callaghan, Ourimbah and Newcastle City Precinct campuses is free, and no permit is required. Motorcycles must be parked in a designated motorcycle parking bay only.

Mobility Parking

Visitors who have an RTA Mobility Permit are eligible for free parking in Disabled, Staff and General car parking spaces. Please note that RTA Mobility Parking Scheme conditions apply.

Parking Infringements

The NSW Police Service processes parking infringements issued on the University campus on behalf of the University. The penalties applied are those provided for under the NSW Motor Traffic regulations; NSW Australian Road Rules provides for a fine of not less than $77 for parking infringements.

Should an individual wish to challenge a parking infringement that has been issued, they must make their submission to The Director, Infringement Processing Bureau, PO Box 999 Hunter Region MC NSW 2310.
