CAL Rollover

The new CAL Rollover screen is now available in the CTS. Faculties and Schools can now use this functionality to manage their Course Availability by rolling any approved 2007 classes into 2008.

A reminder that the CAL Rollover screen allows selection by Subject Area and lists 10 courses (with their associated classes) per screen. Staff will have the option of either rolling all or individual classes for a course. Once submitted, the classes selected are automatically updated and approved on the CTS Course Availability List (CAL) screen.

This also applies to an eligible course with more than one class where at least one of those classes is rolled over. Those classes not rolled over no longer become eligible. If the remaining classes are required to be offered then they can only be manually processed using the Course Availability List (CAL) screen.

CTS Field of Education Code (FoE)

There appears to be some confusion as to what data should be recorded as the Field of Education (FoE) value in the CTS.

Further information in addition to the codes can be found at -

http://www.newcastle.edu.au/service/cpr/links.html

Essentially there are 12 broad fields of education in the classification, with each broad field containing more narrow fields of education, which in turn contain the detailed fields of education.

Note that it is this detailed field of education code (6 digit code) that must be used in the CTS as the FoE.

Problems with Cut and Copy

A problem has been identified in the CTS that manifests itself when text is cut or copied from a Word document and is then pasted into the text boxes located on the Resources screen and when Adding Remarks to a proposal.

Development work to rectify the problem is expected to begin following completion of higher priority work.

In the interim it is suggested that any text required to be entered in these text boxes be entered manually.

CTS Email Notification

.

All current write-access CTS users will begin receiving notifications on this day.

Email notifications are generated nightly and will consist of a single daily journal per day. This journal will list all courses and their associated actions carried out on the previous day.

Notifications received will be determined by your current access level in the CTS.

If anyone experiences any problems with their notifications please contact Kathy Quinn ext. 17897
