Accept or Defer Your UAC Offer

When you receive a UAC offer to study at the University of Newcastle, it is important to either accept or defer your offer. If you do not accept your offer of admission within the designated period, it will lapse and you will need to contact Admissions on (02) 4921 5000 or email admissions@newcastle.edu.au.

You have 7 days from the date of the offer letter to advise us whether you wish to accept or defer your offer.

How to defer your offer

You may defer your offer for a period of one year or until it is next offered. If you have previously deferred your program offer, you are not eligible to apply for another deferment for the same program.

Remember - if you need to accept or defer by mail, make sure you allow enough time for it to reach us. It is advisable to return the paperwork by Express Post or Certified mail and retain the receipt as proof of postage.
