University helps Year 12 Students prepare for HSC exams
The University of Newcastle offered HSC students a helping hand with their studies, and the opportunity to gain new perspectives on their subjects, through a series of workshops held by experienced HSC markers. The HSC Study Days were set up to give students subject-specific advice, useful study strategies, tips for subject assessments, exam techniques, and time management tactics.
Students from as far away as Dubbo, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Scone, Sydney and the Central Coast joined local students in sessions at the Callaghan and Ourimbah campus.
Pro Vice-Chancellor, Corporate Development and Community Partnerships, Associate Professor Martin Fitzgerald, said HSC Study Days complimented the work done in NSW High Schools, and provided students with an edge at exam time.
“HSC Study sessions will give students a much-needed motivational boost and added confidence as they head into the exam period,” Associate Professor Fitzgerald said.
Feedback from HSC Study days over the years has been extremely positive, and the University of Newcastle is pleased to help contribute to HSC students’ success.
