Professional Indemnity

This policy covers all sums the University is legally liable to pay in respect of claims made against it for a breach of professional duty by reason of any negligent act, error or omission committed by the University, its employees, students on placement and volunteers in their official capacity for the University.

NB: Any knowledge of an event which may give rise to a claim should be reported immediately to the Insurance team of the Risk Management Unit.

The policy is underwritten on a "claims made" basis. No claim can be made against the policy once the policy has expired or has been cancelled.
